7 Nights Dinner, Bed and Breakfast, Visit to Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, Stratford River Cruise, Afternoon Tea at the Arden Hotel, Entry to Charlecote Park and Entrance to Blenheim Palace.
DAY 1 We leave home and travel to our overnight hotel in the North of England.
DAY 2 After breakfast we travel south to Stratford visiting Worcester en-route.
DAY 3 We begin our day with a relaxing 45 minute river cruise with an engaging guide who will bring Shakespeare’s Stratford to life, before spending some free time in Stratford. In the afternoon, we visit Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, a beautiful 500 year old cottage where Shakespeare courted his bride to be as well as his birthplace. We then enjoy our Afternoon Tea at the Hotel Arden overlooking the River Avon.
DAY 4 We spend today at the fabulous Blenheim Palace, the seat of the Dukes of Marlborough. One of England’s largest houses, it was built in the early 1700s and is a family home, a mausoleum and national monument and is notable as being the birthplace and ancestral home of Sir Winston Churchill.
DAY 5 Today is at leisure, enjoy a walk along the Avon, a browse around the shops or take in the many historical attractions Stratford has to offer.
DAY 6 We travel through the Cotswolds to the beautiful historic villages which have remained unchanged little over the years with thatched cottages, old inns and grand manor houses in abundance.
DAY 7 We leave Stratford and make our way North but before we leave Shakespeare country we visit Charlecote Park, a grand 16th Century country house on the banks of the River Avon before travelling to the North of England for our overnight stay.
DAY 8 After breakfast, we head homeward.
