ITINERARY
DAY 1 We leave home and travel south to our overnight hotel in the North of England.
DAY 2 Today we travel to Norwich and our base for the next five nights.
DAY 3 Excursion to the North Norfolk Heritage Coast to the wonderful Georgian market town of Holt, where you board ‘The Poppy Line’, for a heritage steam train ride with stunning views of the Norfolk countryside and coastline through to Sheringham, a traditional seaside town which grew up around its old fishing village. Continue to the lovely coastal resort of Cromer, famous for its pier and tasty crabs.
DAY 4 We pay a visit to the seaside resort of Great Yarmouth, a flourishing coastal resort since 1760. Enjoy over 15 miles of sandy beach, the funfair, a game of mini-golf or simply enjoy a stroll along one of the piers. In the afternoon we make our way to Horning, where you board your boat for a relaxing cruise on the Norfolk Broads.
DAY 5 A day at leisure, a day to familiarise yourself with the city, whether you admire the attractive buildings such as Dragon Hall, the Guildhall and 17th Century Pulls Ferry with its 15th Century arch over the former canal. Wander through historic streets such as Pottergate and Timber Hill with their old buildings and unusual shops.
DAY 6 Our excursion today takes us to the Sandringham Estate, the much-loved Norfolk retreat of Her Majesty the Queen. The magnificent stately house is set in stunning landscaped gardens, and remains very much as it was in Edwardian times.
DAY 7 We leave Norwich today and head back north to our overnight hotel.
DAY 8 After breakfast, we head home.
