4 Nights Dinner, Bed and Breakfast, Welcome Tea/Coffee and Biscuits, Entry to Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Two hour River Tyne Cruise with Commentary.
DAY 1 We leave home and travel to Alnwick to arrive late afternoon.
DAY 2 Today we visit Hexham, stopping off at Hadrians Wall for photos. In the afternoon we visit Alnwick Castle. See the lavish state rooms, drawing room, dining room and the 400 year old library with 16000 books. Roam the 26 acre garden with elaborate water features and Poison Garden.
DAY 3 Newcastle is our destination today, we will have some free time in the city and after lunch we will hear stories about the city on a two hour Tyne Cruise with commentary viewing the city’s famous landmarks including the Tyne Gorge and all seven bridges.
DAY 4 Northumbria is blessed with unspoilt beauty with its tradition and lilting tongue. Today’s coastal trail passes Brednall Bay to the popular fishing village of Seahouses, where stalls sell the freshest of seafood. We continue along the coastline to Bamburgh with time free for lunch. A must see is the Holy Island of Lindisfarne – access is across the two mile causeway (tides permitting). Not only is the island the cradle of Christianity but is also a breathtakingly beautiful island to stroll around with several cafes and pubs to enjoy a refreshment. We return via the picturesque villages of Ford and Etal.
DAY 5 After breakfast we head home.
