It is said that the Outer Hebrides were formed from the bones of a giant who terrorised the western coast of Scotland. He was slain by a young man whose bride he had stolen. The land formed was blessed with a rare beauty, stunning peaks tumble to still deserted silver beaches, lochs nestle beneath breathtaking crags and remain the home of a multitude of wildlife and a thousand species of wild flowers.

DAY 1 We travel to Inverness for lunch and then to Ullapool to catch the late afternoon ferry to Stornoway, arriving in our hotel in time for dinner.
DAY 2 Today we enjoy a guided tour of the island’s fantastic scenery. Lewis is the largest and most populated of the Western Isles although it remains refreshingly unspoilt. We will visit the famous Callanish Stones which rank only second to Stonehenge, the Black House at Arnol and Shawbost.
DAY 3 Our guided excursion today takes us round Harris, known for its sandy beaches like Luskentyre and Scarista on the west coast and for rugged mountains in the North. The Isle of Harris is linked by road to the Isle of Lewis and the drive passes some of the most dramatic coastal scenery in the UK.
DAY 4 We will have the morning free in Stornoway, time to stock up on the best Black Pudding! We then catch the afternoon ferry back to Ullapool and make our way homeward. Arriving home late evening.
